The story behind Stories Between Us
I’m Lyndall, the founder of Life Story Collective and the creator of Stories Between Us.
A few years ago, I lost my lovely Dad, John. Before he passed away, we managed to get some of his stories down. I treasure them more than almost anything else I own. The stories capture his character and his great sense of humour, in his own distinct voice, exactly as if he was telling them again. When I read them now, I don’t just remember what happened, I hear him.
That’s why I created Stories Between Us, so other families can do what we did, in their own time. So the stories that make your Mum or Dad who they are get passed down to their children and grandchildren, in their own words.
In an age where AI can write almost anything, the one thing it can never write is your grandparents’, Mum’s or Dad’s story, in their own words, in their own voice. That’s what makes Stories Between Us worth doing.
